I'm being cautious on this endeavor simply because I'm am not "reasonably" comfortable with everything, yet... I'm going to set up as a repair station here in the US for the lights that I sell and that makes me more cautious given the major changes and upgrades that went into the FF4. Not allot of time has passed to test all the new parts and features. I don't want to ship lights with a problem or unforeseen bug. I don't want to ship first out-of-the-shoot lights that will have substantive changes in the next run. On laughing gas getting my wisdom teeth extracted I told my dentist heck yea I feel comfortable, lets rip-em out of there. He looked at me stone faced and said you better hope I feel comfortable doing this...

I noticed the bulb looks a little different from FF3. A little larger glass and more round and has a little different color temp. Maybe nothing...

The 60w power setting started out at 1 minute limit. To get to the 60w setting the light has to be in low 24w and warm up for 15 seconds before you can press the side button for two seconds and the light will go to 60w. This is good and responsible as it minimizes the flash amps needed to do 60w and avoids cold start high flash amp at 60w. You can not start out at 60w. Not sure it will start at 40w or if light has memory in regards to 24w or 40w last off...

Chinese consumers complained that 1 min at 60w was too short. The 1 min was changed to 3 min for the 60w setting. This caused some unforeseen problems to pop up. The FF4 could only go to 60w one time and the light would be required to cycle off to get it to go back to 60w from low. Temp kick-down was lowered a little and may have caused some issues at 60w for 3 min. I don't know if this has been changed or would be changed later.

At 77w consumption and true 60w to bulb the ballast efficiency went down from 82% to 77%. Dropping the power to 58w would bring the efficiency back up to 82% with negligible light loss. I don't know where this is at.

Some of the FF3 lens would crack either from heat or bulb placement. FF4 lens was not stable enough to handle the long-term heat and had to be remade. Shipping lights back and forth crossing oceans and countries, everybody is going to be non-too-happy. Especially those that are in a price war in Asia that pay more to ship than there gp.

I've asked for clarification on these items and how the functions worked out in the end.

I have requested info on spare battery packs, handle kits, extension tubes and prices and availability for these. Also full compliment of spare parts to stand up repair station...

Pricing for group buy USA will be $259 + 10 priority shipping (up to 2 units) to conus = $269

The other deals for shipping overseas are hard to compete with. For those that don't get in on those deals I'll work with you getting something fair put together to ship overseas (bundling etc.). Keep in mind my concern about changes that may occur in light and the distance $$$$ they have to travel...

Hopefully it all works out where everybody is comfortable

Da quello che ho letto la FF4 ha avuto qualche problema di gioventù che sarà sistemato velocemente.

ciao vorrei fare una domanda visto che non ho mai acquistato oggetti attraverso gda o cose simili:
quando sapremo il prezzo preciso della torcia e dei ricambi tipo il bulbo quando arriveremo al punto di pagare e fare l'acquisto come funzionerà la cosa?
sarà il gentilissimo (che ringrazio per tutto l'impegno profuso per tutti noi) "RO.MA" a fare l'ordine per tutti noi con i ricambi ,per chi le vuole, e poi ci verrà indicato per caso un conto dove depositare la cifra con bonifico o un sito dove fare direttamente il pagamento per esempio con paypal?
ringrazio tutti coloro sapranno darmi una risposta e di nuovo un ringraziamento speciale a RO.MA

Grazie Alex, sono due mesi che ogni giorno più volte al giorno do un'occhiata al gda americano dove abbiamo l'opzione per l'acquisto della FF4. Lo faccio con piacere perchè sono molto contento di questa passione e quindi non mi pesa. Questo è il mio primo gda e quindi devo cercare di considerare tutte le opzioni disponibili con attenzione. Riguardo l'FF4, hanno avuto problemi di rottura vetro testa e lamentele cinesi per il solo minuto di burst a 60 watt; infatti l'hanno poi portato a tre minuti (da quello che mi sembra di capire). Dovremmo essere nel secondo lotto come consegne ed è meglio così per la correzzione di eventuali problemi di inizio serie. Sarebbe bello ricevere una sola spedizione considerando le comunque alte spese della stessa, ma è troppo laborioso raccogliere le oltre dieci FF4 e poi spedirle una ad una; chi si prende questa responsabilità! Quindi penso che alla fine ad ogniuno, secondo la richiesta che fà(inteso solo torcia o anche extra), verra mandata la richiesta di denaro con pagamento paypal da parte di Lips. Comunque è ancora tutto da decidere.Naturalmente vi terrò informati repentinamente. Unknown when second batch be done. I assume after 1st batch sells out and figure about a month or so. I feel better about doing the second batch to bypass any problems and catch improvements made to the lights. Shipping overseas and shipping back if a problem would be expensive and worth a little wait.

I'm waiting to here back on price of spare battery packs and how many they have. I asked for 20. I will have a few extra bulbs on hand. I'll have to check on getting extra. It is hard to change bulb because of silicon potting. I am asking for extra ceramic holder at the base to make it easier to change bulb. I'll see if I can get extra.

Understood on shipping to each person.

Let me know what your guys think about waiting a little while. I think it would be worth the wait.
If you find a great deal somewhere else your comfortable with just let me know as I'm fine either way.

Da quello che capisco sembra che il secondo lotto (che ci riguarda) verrà consegnato all'incirca un mese dopo il primo. Visto che il primo, che come scritto in precedenza ha avuto dei problemi, deve ancora essere consegnato, penso che si andrà a finire a Luglio 2013. Riguardo i ricambi Lips ha chiesto alla ditta produttrice una ventina di portabatterie e qualche bulbo.
Questo è tutto per ora. Lips è stato sincero su questa nuova FF4. Purtroppo considerando i problemi che può avere una torcia nuova di questa potenza non bisogna avere fretta di averla per poi ritrovarsi dei difetti da affrontare.

Non mi è chiara una cosa; la spedizione avverebbe in due tempi? Ovvero le mandano tutte a Lips e poi lui ce le rispedisce o ce le inviano direttamente dalla cina?

per quanto mi riguarda preferisco aspettare che prendere una torcia con problemi...comunque ho aggiornato l'elenco ed ho aggiunto per me un bulbo di ricambio ed un battery rack (ovviemente condizionato dai relativi prezzi quando saranno disponibili).

Lips è il rivenditore ufficiale americano per la fire-foxes, penso che arrivino a lui i lotti richiesti e poi lui fà le spedizioni.

Sono daccordo con te, aspettiamo il secondo lotto da Lips dove avranno corretto i problemi nati dalle prime FF4. Chi vuole prenderla da altre parti è libero di farlo naturalmente.
